Day by Day
Departure from Manaus at 8 a.m.
Our adventure into the Brazilian Amazon jungle tour starts at 8 a.m. from Manaus, leaving the hotel by car to the river port Ceasa, a quick 20-minute drive. From there we board a boat to the village of Careiro da Varzea. During the 30-minute trip, you’ll witness the phenomenon of Meeting of the Waters, where the dark waters of the Negro River and the muddy waters of the Solimões River converge to form the Amazon River. Keep an eye out for the curious pink river dolphins that often come out to greet travellers!

Our journey continues with a visit to the local fruit market, followed by a bus or van ride to the Araça River via the Manaus-Porto Velho highway. On arrival, we’ll board another boat and navigate through a series of lakes, to spot birds, alligators, sloths, and monkeys. You’ll also have the chance to see the giant Amazon waterlilies (Vitoria Regia) with their floating leaves. The journey to the lodge is an adventure in itself, promising unexpected encounters with the jungle’s inhabitants.

Arriving at the lodge around midday, a buffet lunch of fresh fish, meat, salads, and fruits from the Brazilian Amazon jungle awaits you. The afternoon is dedicated to a motorized canoe trip to learn and see more about the region’s landscapes and diverse wildlife.

Dinner is served at 7 pm in the lodge restaurant. It’s the perfect end to a day full of adventure and discovery.
The adventure begins at 5:30 a.m. with a sunrise birdwatching on our second day with the Brazilian Amazon jungle tour, providing a wonderful opportunity to experience nature awakening with the sun. Afterwards, we return to the lodge for breakfast. At 8 a.m., we go on a jungle trek led by our experienced guides, where you will learn survival tactics, such as how to use lianas as ropes and climb trees, as well as how to find water and food. Along the way, you will learn about the rich biodiversity and wildlife of the Amazon Jungle.

After, we will go to the river to go canoeing with oars to observe more wildlife such as sloths and monkeys, photograph beautiful landscapes, contemplate Amazonian fauna and flora and stimulate our senses and listen to the sounds of the jungle.Back at the lodge, we have dinner at 7pm and then canoe out to observe the nocturnal fauna and spot the alligators. This experience, led by our expert guides, allows us to get up close and personal with these unique creatures.

Your next day of our Brazilian Amazon Jungle Tour starts with a delicious breakfast at 8 a.m. and afterwards, you will depart from the lodge with your English-speaking guide to visit a local’s home and gain insight into their way of life in the Brazilian Amazon jungle. You will have the opportunity to learn about their culture, customs, and traditions. On the return journey to the lodge, you will visit a cassava and rubber plantation where locals will demonstrate how they collect vegetables, fruits, nuts, and spices. You will also have the chance to taste some of these exotic products.

After lunch, we will return to the river to practice the famous piranha fishing. An experience like that introduces you to one of the most striking species that you will meet in your Brazilian Amazon jungle tour.

Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The rest of the night you’ll be free to relax, the perfect moment to appreciate the various noises and mysteries of the Amazonian rain forest.
The final day of our Brazilian Amazon jungle begins with breakfast at 8 a.m. Depending on the itinerary, there is the possibility of an additional tour in the morning such as: observing the Amazon’s pink river dolphins as we navigate through the small channels (Igarapés) and the flooded forest areas (Igapós) — that usually appear from February to July. In case you need to leave early due to your flight or other reasons, you can skip the morning excursion and leave for Manaus right after breakfast.

After lunch at the lodge, we’ll make our way back to Manaus, arriving at 5 p.m. This will mark the end of our Brazilian Amazon jungle, which has given us not only a quick and significant discovery of the Amazon’s natural wonders but also a connection with nature, the land, and its people.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Amazon is a year-round destination, but the best conditions are generally from January to September, when trails are accessible, water levels are good for river activities, and extreme drought is avoided.
From December to May (wet season), travelers can enjoy kayaking, canoeing, and exploring the flooded forest, with short tropical rainstorms. The dry season (June to November) allows a mix of water and land activities, but prolonged droughts, especially from October to December, can lower river levels and restrict access to some areas, improving again by January.

Manaus (AM): To get to Manaus, fly into its international airport, which has direct connections from Miami (MIA), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Panama City (PTY), and Bogotá (BOG). From Europe, seasonal flights are available, but most travelers connect via São Paulo (GRU) or Brasília (BSB).
Once in Manaus, reaching the rainforest is easy: transfers are made by boat (1–3 hours) or small plane, depending on the lodge you choose.

The Pantanal is the best destination if your priority is spotting wildlife, thanks to its open landscapes where jaguars, giant otters, capybaras, and birds are easier to see. In the Amazon, wildlife is abundant but harder to observe in the dense forest, where animals often stay hidden. That said, visitors still encounter monkeys, caimans, dolphins, and countless bird species: it’s just less about frequent sightings and more about immersion in the world’s largest rainforest.
👉 Still deciding between destinations? Check out our comparison of the Pantanal and the Amazon and choose the best spot for your adventure.
At least 3 days are recommended for a first Amazon experience. For deeper immersion, 4–7 days allow you to explore multiple ecosystems, spot more wildlife, and connect with local communities. Longer stays are ideal for those who want slower travel, river expeditions, and meaningful cultural exchanges.
👉 Wondering about timing? Find out how many days to spend in the Amazon
Yes. All tours are guided by experienced professionals who know the forest and its wildlife. Encounters with dangerous animals are avoided, and guides ensure safe distances at all times. Traveling with certified operators means you can explore confidently, focusing on the beauty of the forest rather than safety concerns.

A yellow fever vaccine is recommended when visiting Brazil, including the Amazon, but it is not mandatory. There are no known cases of yellow fever in the rainforest, yet many travelers choose to be vaccinated as a precaution. It is also a good idea to make sure your tetanus shot is up to date before your trip.
As for malaria, medication is not required, but some visitors prefer to take preventive pills. Keep in mind that these can cause side effects such as nausea, so it’s best to consult your doctor before deciding. Overall, basic precautions and guided travel keep health risks in the Amazon very low.

The excursions were excellent, with a team of guides who were attentive and deeply committed to ensuring we had a good time. Despite the changeable weather, they adapted to offer us a varied program combining night excursions, sunrises, fishing, encounters, wildlife watching, and much more. We highly recommend this trip.
