Here are the reviews of travelers who had joined our luxury Machu Picchu tours.
Machu Picchu, the 15th-century Inca citadel above the Urubamba River in Peru, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983. While standard travel itineraries rely on single-day train excursions from Cusco, an elevated luxury tour invites you to take a more immersive, leisurely approach. Over 7 to 10 days, you will traverse the Andes, unwind in boutique mountain lodges each evening, and culminate your journey with a fully guided exploration of the iconic ruins.
High in the Andes, up to 3,906 m, luxury means uncompromising comfort: heated showers, goose-down bedding, scenic hot tubs, and neo-Andean dining with complimentary wine and beer. Every luxury Machu Picchu tour includes full board, expert bilingual guiding, train transport, entry permits, and shuttle transfers.
Each route offers a distinct level of activity. For a culture-focused itinerary, the 7-day Sacred Valley and Lares journey combines optional walks with daily activities like cooking classes, village visits, and local markets. If you prefer a mountain challenge, the 7-day luxury Salkantay trek takes you across the high 4,636 m Salkantay Pass. To experience both, choose the 10-day Andes trek, our most comprehensive lodge-to-lodge trek in Peru.
Regular departures set out from Cusco multiple times weekly between March and December. Traveling during the dry season (April to October) offers pleasant daytime temperatures ranging from 17°C to 20°C. To ensure an intimate experience, group sizes are capped at 12 to 16 guests. We recommend arriving in Cusco (elevation ~3,400 m) at least two days prior to your trip to allow adequate time for altitude acclimatization.
