Day 1
Theory sessions (evenings)
Across the course you complete the theory of diving — equipment, breathing, safe ascents, planning and underwater communication — in guided evening lessons, leaving your days free to enjoy the island.

Take the first step into the world of scuba diving with the Open Water diving course in Fernando de Noronha, one of the most stunning diving spots on the planet. This internationally recognized certification program is your ticket to exploring Fernando de Noronha's underwater world up to depths of 18 m/60 ft.
Whichever certification you choose — SSI, PADI or NAUI — you'll get top-notch instruction tailored to your needs, with both theory lessons and hands-on practical training. The course lasts a minimum of five days, with evening theory sessions and practical training in the afternoons. You'll start with two beach dives to gain confidence, followed by four dives from the boat across some of Noronha's most remarkable dive sites.
Our instructors are with you every step of the way, making sure you get the skills you need to feel comfortable and safe underwater. This is your chance to start your diving journey in one of the best marine ecosystems in the world: with crystal-clear waters, abundant marine life and professional guidance, the Open Water diving course is perfect for those ready to begin their adventure of scuba diving in Fernando de Noronha.
To join the course, you must be at least 10 years old and plan for a minimum 5-day stay on the island. Theory lessons are held in the evening and practical diving sessions in the afternoon, so you can learn while enjoying Noronha's beauty. If you need a bilingual guide or instructor, we can arrange that, depending on availability.
Day 1
Across the course you complete the theory of diving — equipment, breathing, safe ascents, planning and underwater communication — in guided evening lessons, leaving your days free to enjoy the island.

Day 2
You begin in shallow beach (or pool) conditions, where your instructor guides you through the core skills until you feel comfortable and confident in the water before heading out to sea.

Day 4
Two boat departures, each with two dives, take you to some of Noronha's most remarkable underwater sites, to a maximum depth of 18 m. Your instructor stays beside you, consolidating your skills on real dives among reefs, rocky formations and marine life.
Day 4
After successfully completing the theory and practical dives, you receive your internationally recognized Open Water Diver certification (PADI, SSI or NAUI), allowing you to keep diving up to 18 m anywhere in the world.
Accommodation on the island is not included in the course, so you're free to choose a base that suits your style and budget — options in Fernando de Noronha range from luxury hotels to charming, modest guesthouses (pousadas). Round-trip transfers between your accommodation and the dive operation are included.
Meals and beverages during the course are not included, which keeps you free to enjoy the island's restaurants and pousadas between dives. On dive days, eating before a dive is fine — just keep your meal light and easy to digest, stay well hydrated in the tropical heat, and avoid alcohol before diving.
