Kick off your holiday in the Amazon Rainforest by heading to Ceasa Port, where you’ll make a quick stop at the local fish/fruit market before embarking on a boat. On the way to Careiro da Várzea across the Solimões and Negro rivers, you’ll witness the fascinating Meeting of Waters. The journey to your accommodation is an adventure in itself!
After another drive and boat ride—keep an eye out for giant water lilies and animals along the way!—you’ll arrive at the beautiful Amazon Turtle Lodge. Take some time to check into your room, relax after the long journey, and have lunch.
In the afternoon, join your tour guide on a motorized canoe trip to explore the surrounding area of the Mamori River. This is the moment to take in the beauty of the largest rainforest in the world. Keep an eye out for possible animal sightings, such as sloths, monkeys, and birds!
The group sets out at 5:30 AM in a motorized canoe to witness the stunning sunrise and the awakening of the birds. Dawn is one of the most incredible experiences of any Amazon Rainforest vacation in Brazil, so savor every second!

Once you have breakfast at the lodge, your guide will lead you on an amazing hike through the jungle to learn survival techniques and explore the vast biodiversity of the Mamori River. Don’t forget to take pictures and ask any questions you might have about the flora and fauna!
After lunch, we’ll go on another canoe trip, but this time on Lake Tracajá to fish for piranhas and other native species. In the evening, explore the forest after dark to look for nocturnal animals. With spotlights and great knowledge about the area, your tour guide will help you find caimans, owls, frogs, and much more.
Start your day with a lovely breakfast at the Amazon Turtle Lodge and get ready to visit a caboclo’s house to understand more about the way of life in the forest.
You’ll also explore cassava and rubber plantations to learn about the native food and work culture. Don’t miss the chance to try some local flavors, including vegetables, fruit, nuts, and spices!

Later, go on a relaxing canoe trip through igapós (flooded forests) or igarapés (small water channels) to contemplate the beauty of nature. Look closely for exotic species of plants, flowers, birds, small mammals, and insects!
Embark on an immersive hike through the “living pharmacy” of the jungle. As you navigate trails dappled with sunlight, an expert guide reveals the secrets of medicinal plants, identifying the healing saps and aromatic leaves used by forest communities for centuries.

The group will also visit an old rubber tapper’s (seringueiro) house to learn everything about traditional rubber crafting techniques.
In the afternoon, enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge and use your free time to choose your next activity. Talk to your guide to know your options!
Start the last day of your Amazon Rainforest holiday with breakfast and the rare opportunity to see pink river dolphins up close! This is also a great chance to spot other animals and take more pictures.

Later, we’ll visit a caboclo’s house and a local school. Engage with the locals, share experiences, and dive deep into Amazonian culture.
The tour comes to an end after lunch. You will be safely transferred back to Manaus.

All the staff were professional, the facilities are well-maintained, and the food is superb! Honestly, the amount of options for each meal and the quality of the fish, salad, meat, and dessert was wonderful! After going through over 50 different lodge options, I chose this one for their rapid response times through WhatsApp and their well-maintained website. Through a call, they reassured me and provided great insight. Note that from Manaus, the trip does take 3-4 hours by boat, van, then boat again, but its location is great as it's in the depths of the Amazon. One can see the Meeting of the Rivers, fish for piranhas, spot wildlife along the river, hike through the Amazon, swim or kayak around the lodge, and go caiman spotting. All of these are accompanied by one of their local guides who all speak English really well. My guide made the trip an experience I won't forget. …read more read lessDate of Experience: February 01, 2024
