Day by day
📍Departure from Manaus at 8 am
The Amazon trek immersion starts early. At 8:00 am, travellers will be picked up from their hotels in Manaus and transferred to the Ceasa Port, a 12 km drive taking about 20 minutes. From there, we board a speedboat and head down the Rio Negro towards the famous Meeting of the Waters, where the dark waters of the Rio Negro run side by side with the muddy Rio Solimões without mixing, an impressive natural phenomenon.

Next, we’ll cross the Solimões River to reach the small fishing village of Careiro da Várzea. From there, the journey continues overland by car or van for about an hour toward the Paraná do Mamori River. The final leg is another short boat ride, approximately 30 minutes.

What a ride! After about 4 hours of travel — an adventure in itself — we’ll arrive at the base where lunch will be served around 12:00.
At 2:30 pm, the group sets off in a motorised canoe to reach the first jungle camp. Upon arrival, your guide will help you set up your hammock and mosquito net and prepare a fire for dinner. After the meal, everyone gathers around the campfire to hear stories about the forest and local life,a deep dive into the culture, myths, and survival skills of the Amazon.

Your first night in the rainforest is a full immersion into the heart of the jungle, the perfect beginning to a true Amazon trek and survival tour.

This Amazon trek lasts around 3.5 hours and is guided by an experienced local who will share insights into the rich biodiversity of the region. This hike provides a deep connection with nature and forms an essential part of the Amazon survival experience.

In the afternoon, the expedition continues with another canoe trip through the flooded forest and narrow channels. Keep your eyes open for monkeys, toucans, macaws, and other wildlife along the way, the moments that make the Amazon so unforgettable.

After returning to camp and preparing dinner, the adventure continues into the night with alligator spotting. Accompanied by your guide, you’ll search the riverbanks for these fascinating creatures and learn about their behavior and role in the ecosystem, another highlight of this Amazon trek and survival tour.
Exploring the Amazon jungle might seem challenging, but with the right preparation, it becomes an unforgettable experience. During our Amazon trek, you’ll acquire essential skills for thriving in the rainforest, from identifying edible fruits to mastering traditional fishing techniques.
From 8 am to 11 am, we begin with a guided jungle hike, where you’ll discover plants, fruits, and other vital food sources. After this immersive trek, we return to camp to prepare lunch over an open fire using local ingredients.

Upon reaching our next destination, we set up a new campsite and prepare lunch with fresh local ingredients. In the afternoon, the Amazon trek continues with another jungle hike focused on biodiversity and survival techniques.

As the sun sets, we return to camp and prepare for the night safari. After dark, we set off in boats, guided only by a flashlight and the guide’s spotlight, navigating the waterways in search of nocturnal wildlife like birds, snakes, bats, and spiders.

After the night safari, we return to camp to rest and recharge, ready for the next adventure.
After breakfast, we dive deeper into the rainforest to explore its natural survival resources. This demanding Amazon trek teaches you how to identify edible plants and insects, essential skills for understanding how nature sustains life in the jungle.
We return to camp just in time for lunch made with local ingredients.

Later, we relocated to a new camp. Here, you’ll learn how to build a safe shelter and engage in a traditional Amazonian fishing experience using spears, an ancestral technique passed down through generations.
After cooking our fresh catch over the fire, we share another unforgettable dinner under the starry Amazon sky, a true moment of reflection on your Amazon trek and survival tour.
After breakfast, we explore the Amazonian Floodplain, one of the best places to observe wildlife in its natural setting. Depending on the season, we either travel on foot (from September to March) or navigate by boat through the flooded forest.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Amazon is a year-round destination, but the best conditions are generally from January to September, when trails are accessible, water levels are good for river activities, and extreme drought is avoided.
From December to May (wet season), travelers can enjoy kayaking, canoeing, and exploring the flooded forest, with short tropical rainstorms. The dry season (June to November) allows a mix of water and land activities, but prolonged droughts, especially from October to December, can lower river levels and restrict access to some areas, improving again by January.

Manaus (AM): To get to Manaus, fly into its international airport, which has direct connections from Miami (MIA), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Panama City (PTY), and Bogotá (BOG). From Europe, seasonal flights are available, but most travelers connect via São Paulo (GRU) or Brasília (BSB).
Once in Manaus, reaching the rainforest is easy: transfers are made by boat (1–3 hours) or small plane, depending on the lodge you choose.

The Pantanal is the best destination if your priority is spotting wildlife, thanks to its open landscapes where jaguars, giant otters, capybaras, and birds are easier to see. In the Amazon, wildlife is abundant but harder to observe in the dense forest, where animals often stay hidden. That said, visitors still encounter monkeys, caimans, dolphins, and countless bird species: it’s just less about frequent sightings and more about immersion in the world’s largest rainforest.
👉 Still deciding between destinations? Check out our comparison of the Pantanal and the Amazon and choose the best spot for your adventure.
At least 3 days are recommended for a first Amazon experience. For deeper immersion, 4–7 days allow you to explore multiple ecosystems, spot more wildlife, and connect with local communities. Longer stays are ideal for those who want slower travel, river expeditions, and meaningful cultural exchanges.
👉 Wondering about timing? Find out how many days to spend in the Amazon
Yes. All tours are guided by experienced professionals who know the forest and its wildlife. Encounters with dangerous animals are avoided, and guides ensure safe distances at all times. Traveling with certified operators means you can explore confidently, focusing on the beauty of the forest rather than safety concerns.

A yellow fever vaccine is recommended when visiting Brazil, including the Amazon, but it is not mandatory. There are no known cases of yellow fever in the rainforest, yet many travelers choose to be vaccinated as a precaution. It is also a good idea to make sure your tetanus shot is up to date before your trip.
As for malaria, medication is not required, but some visitors prefer to take preventive pills. Keep in mind that these can cause side effects such as nausea, so it’s best to consult your doctor before deciding. Overall, basic precautions and guided travel keep health risks in the Amazon very low.
