The Amazon Jungle Lodge
Located on a remote and unspoiled peninsula, surrounded by the river, 118 kilometres (73 miles) southeast of Manaus, the Amazon Jungle Lodge tour offers an experience covering a vast area of 7,000 hectares (17,300 acres), which has been fully preserved. Its design and construction are entirely eco-friendly, and the architecture is inspired by the building techniques used by the indigenous people of the Amazon River to construct their homes. The perfect combination of rusticity and sophistication creates a unique and memorable experience.

The lodge’s common areas are constructed in the same style, on stilts and covered in babaçu straw. These include a restaurant, a small bar, a comfortable hammock area to relax, and a terrace with stunning views over the river. The swimming pool is a unique feature of the lodge, designed for sitting under a floating terrace protected by underwater railings. The pool uses water from the river, allowing visitors to swim in complete safety. The area around the pool is perfect for relaxing in the sun, and visitors can also enjoy refreshments at the small bar nearby.

During your Amazon jungle lodge tour, you can explore predefined itineraries, led by a bilingual guide, which can be modified according to weather conditions.

Meeting of the Waters
On our way to the lodge, we stop for a break to see the amazing Meeting of the Waters, where the murky waters of the Solimões River merge with the dark waters of the Negro River. The two rivers, each with their own speed, temperature, colour and composition, flow side by side for several kilometres without blending. Eventually, they merge to create the mighty Amazon River.

Canoeing
Our canoeing tour offers an immersive and intimate exploration of the waterways (igarapés and igapós), an adventure that can only be experienced with canoes. As you journey through these waterways, you will be serenaded by the enigmatic sounds of the forest.

Night Tour
We go on a nocturnal tour to see frogs, birds, and, most importantly, caymans. Our guide uses his flashlight to spot these creatures, adding an exciting element to the tour. The sounds of the night are just as impressive as the star-studded sky.

Jungle Hike
During this insightful jungle hike, our expert guide will introduce us to the diverse wildlife of the Amazon. He will point out various plants and describe their practical uses, many of which are edible or have medical benefits. To protect the forest, the trails used for the exploration are regularly altered.

Piranha Fishing
We will hop on a motorboat to fish for the infamous piranha and other Amazonian fish. Fishing is more convenient during the dry season as the fish cannot hide in the flooded areas as they do during the rainy season. After fishing we stop to admire the beautiful water lilies. As we return to the lodge at sunset, we will be greeted by some of the most breathtaking views the Amazon has to offer.

Visiting local inhabitants
On our Amazon jungle lodge tour, indigenous locals will share their knowledge and demonstrate the process of making manioc flour, one of the region’s main exports and economic drivers.

Visiting a Sumaúma Tree
We will visit a giant Sumaúma tree that stands for about one century. The Sumaúma tree is known as the largest tree in the Amazon, both in height and diameter, reaching heights of up to 40 metres.

Tree Climbing
This activity is run by Amazon Tree Climbing, a renowned chartered company recognised for being the pioneer of recreational tree climbing in Brazil. Frequently Asked Questions

How to get to the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil?

There are a few ways to visit the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil, but the most convenient one is to fly to Manaus, the capital of Amazonas.

From the US, travelers can choose between two different direct flights, one from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and one from Miami (MIA). Bogotá (BOG) and Panama (PTY) are also great options for Americans and Europeans to land in Manaus as soon as the plane hits Brazilian territory. Otherwise, layovers in São Paulo (GRU), Rio de Janeiro (GIG) or Brasília (BSB) are to be expected.

The Amazon in Mato Grosso and Pará are also amazing vacation spots to explore nature.

When is the best time to visit the Amazon Rainforest?

Although the Amazon is considered a year-round destination, the period from January to September offers the best climate conditions because it avoids the peak of Dry Season at the same time that there are good hiking trail options and enough water for aquatic activities.

Speaking of those, the Wet Season (December to May) is great for people who want to enjoy the Amazonian rivers by kayaking, canoeing, swimming and exploring the flooded forest. Rainstorms are common, but they don’t last too long.

The Dry Season (June to November) is popular because it usually allows both water and land-based activities. However, it’s important to notice that extended droughts are becoming more frequent, especially from October to December. This causes low water levels and limited access to a few areas and itineraries, but things tend to get better by January.

The tours and activities give us a good idea The hotel is set in a simply wonderful area. It’s rustic, but with comfort appropriate to the type of experience. Impeccable service from the entire team. The tours and activities give us a good idea of Amazonian life. The cuisine is more basic, without sophistication, but very typical local, and all very tasty. As they are very isolated and depend on the boat to bring supplies from far away, at times it can be difficult to meet special requests. In the dry season, as we were, it may be a little difficult access for people with some difficulty of locomotion because there are many stairs and very high. As all tours and activities are carried out by the river, there is a need to go down and up stairs several times a day. At the time of flood, as the level of the river rises well, should be easier access. Before you go, you must understand that you will be in the middle of the Amazon jungle with all its peculiarities. In our case, we enjoyed the hotel and the whole experience too much, and we think it exceeded our expectations. …read more read less

The bungalow I occupied was large and spacious with air conditioning and ceiling fans, balcony with blindex door and with hammocks to enjoy the sunset facing the river Juma, The sanitary facilities are new and in perfect operation, with shower (sauna type) with hot/cold water and packaging (following the concepts of sustainability) with liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner in "self service" model, to avoid wastage and plastic packaging, but with high quality products. My bungalow had a king size bed and two single beds. In the food, the hotel restaurant is sheltered and facing the river, and in addition to breakfast with fruits, porridge, breads, tapioca and coffee, lunch was common to guests and composed of delicious food, at least with meat first and Amazonian fish in addition to the usual garnishes. During lunch the guest is presented with the menu of the day’s dinner, and he chooses the starter, main course and dessert that will be served at the beginning of the evening. Always cold drinks and perfect service at any meal. In addition, the hotel has a swimming pool of running water of the river Juma, with enclosed deck and bottom "cage" with safety screen, counting with local bar and sun loungers and towels. The hotel also has ecological tours (walks - longer and shorter), canoeing and tree treading, in addition to being scheduled fishing of the large tucunarés açus and, pirarucus. I myself, in previous visits have already captuted tucunarés of more than 9 kgs and a small pirarucu with lots of adrenaline and security. The guides are very competent and knowledgeable of the region, bringing guests with the local environment, safely and teaching knowledge about Amazonian fauna and flora. …read more read less

The hotel facilities are great, beautiful. It has a lot of comfort without losing the experience of being in the jungle. Bed, pillow, shower, bedding all great, beautiful view. Pool with river water, very original. There are almost no mosquitoes, biting insects, due to the acidity of the water in the hotel area. There is a "domesticated" macaw that lives loose in the hotel and enchants children. The food is very tasty, with enough regionalism that allows us to know even more of the local culture. The chef was too attentive with my children. He is a friendliness, in fact every team is too much! My deep gratitude goes to our guide. He made the trip spectacular. We were received in Manaus on arrival, accompanied us all the way to the hotel, the 6 days in the hotel and tours and again to Manaus. The guide is fantastic! In partnership with our pilot of the boat they made the trip a spectacle. There were so many teachings. A wealth of content, love and care for nature. Our guide made the tours unforgettable. He told us so many good stories, taught us so many things. We were delighted! The interaction with the guide is key part of the trip. He eats breakfast, lunch and dinner every day at the table with us, then establishes a closeness, a affection that makes the experience even more welcoming. All walks are beautiful. The night is exciting. In that darkness in the middle of the river looking at the starry sky is to be amazed! It’s a lot of praise. My children already want to come back.
