“Silvia was an absolutely amazing guide and made our trip to Peru so special. Her kindness, patience, flexibility, and deep knowledge helped make this a true trip of a lifetime. We learned so much from her about Peru, and her passion for the country made every part of the experience more meaningful. We especially appreciated how accommodating she was throughout the trip, including being so understanding and flexible one guest’s car sickness. The hikes and Machu Picchu were spectacular, and we felt so lucky to experience them with Silvia as our guide. We also felt very safe with Sylvia leading us through the hikes. We are incredibly grateful for everything she did to make our trip so wonderful and would recommend her wholeheartedly.”

“The company did a great job of communicating in advance as well as lining up details to ensure all the guests were well taken care of. Our guides Fernando and Edwin were on point- so knowledgeable, flexible and kind. We had an amazing time trekking, exploring local culture and getting fed amazing food in stunning lodges, local homes and hotels. Beginning to end was dialled! Hernan also drove like a champ. Comfortable vans.”

“Delmiro Portillo and Gilbert are the best pair of trekking guides you could ever have. They helped us make a challenging trek into something positive, safe, and fun. While they will test your physical limits they always have a way to get you to your destination safely when you feel you’ve reached the maximum you thought possible. They also introduce you to local people so you can fully understand and appreciate the Andean way of life. 5 stars!”

“Excellent service since the day we arrived at Cusco to all the tours including Machu Picchu until the departure date was outstanding. The management of Alejandro Abugattas was outstanding. My entire family had a great time and we would be delighted to come back.”

“We booked via recommendation of friends. From first contact with Carlos with our booking/ittinery to Juan & Saul our guides, it was a wonderful trip. The lodges we stayed at were beautiful, serene, clean and comfortable! The staff and meals provided were so nice and delicious. The staff was always looking out for us, made us comfortable and accommodated when we were under the weather. The trip was the right amount of hiking, sightseeing & culture. I loved that we were so far into nature that we did not see anyone else except the locals. Got a true feeling of rural living in Peru.”

“I cannot recommend this company enough. The personal attention to detail for every question and request from their office at the outset, set the bar high. Nothing was too much trouble and so much helpful and informative detail was provided so I could really tailor the trip to our preferences. Then the accomodation, it looked good, but it wasn’t, it was simply excellent. Each lodge unique and the genuine care and service humbling. The comfort levels superb and the food deserves a whole review to wax lyrical on its own, just fabulous quality and choice and have never eaten so much on holiday! Our guides were experts and quietly got to know us so they could subtly tailor each day to our dreams, wishes and of course abilities. The fantastic encouragement when I found one walk hard, not only got me through, but allowed me an increíble experience as well as sense of achievement. This is the best company I have ever toured with and cannot recommend them enough. I did and I would again, trust them with my life. They brought my dreams to life, supported an adventure of a lifetime and all with grace, humour and humility. Big shout out to Alejandro for helping craft the final itinerary with such skill as well as our connections, and heartfelt thanks and huge appreciation to Carlos, forever in your debt my friend. Diego, our short time together was special and we thank you for taking such good care of us that morning and sharing so much with us. If you want a genuine experience and be able to let go knowing you are in the hands of true professionals, book, you wont regret it. Truely five star on all levels. Thank you team”

“It was one of the best adventures we have been on. What made the tour exceptional was the attention to detail that the all of the staff showed. Carlos, our travel specialist, patiently and quickly answered all of our questions in preparation for the trip. Our group of 10 had two guides, Joseph and Gilbert. They were informative, articulate, prompt, and most importantly, closely monitored the safety and health of all participants. Joseph was careful to acclimate us to the altitude by starting the trek with shorter hikes building up to the Salkantay Pass. Joseph provided wonderful mini-lectures on the history, archaeology, culture, geology, flora, and fauna of Peru all along the way. Both guides were a lot of fun to be around! The food was delicious and plentiful, making use of local products and produce. All lodges had hot tubs for achy muscles and massage therapists, too! If you are looking for breath taking views of Andean mountains and glaciers, along with history and culture, this is the trip for you!”

“My partner and I were in Peru for three weeks. All booked through MLP. I can't say enough good things about what an organized and stress free experience it was to deal with this company. Would definitely recommend booking your entire vacation through them. We did the walking tour of Cusco, the Grand Andean Experience and then four nights in Mancora. The lodges we stayed in during our trek were fantastic. They were clean and the food was fabulous! The whole trip was an amazing cultural experience. The sights were fantastic. Those mountains are so majestic! Our guide, Guido Huaman, was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He tended to everyone's individual needs and was very passionate about the archaeological history of Peru. Our hotel in Mancora, P.E. Arennas was amazing. We stayed in the Villa Pool room which was right on the beach and it had it's own small pool. The food and service there was incredible! The beach and water were very clean and not crowded.”

“Just returned from a memorable 3-week excursion to Peru, hiking a combination of parts of the Salkantay trail and the Sacred Valley, and then continuing on with a further 3-day extension to do the Lake Titicaca-Suasi Island circuit, all organized (MLP). I considered it a highly successful outing, even though several major events occurred that impacted our plans: (1) just before we launched on our trek, a catastrophic avalanche and debris flow occurred in the Salkantay-Santa Teresa river valley area that wiped out several villages in the area, as well as large parts of the trail we’d intended to hike; and (2) just as we were planning to depart Peru after our hikes were completed, the Peruvian government announced a state of emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic and closed all land, sea and air borders to the country, which necessitated that we remain in Peru for almost a week longer than planned. In spite of all this, we very much enjoyed our time in the country – and especially meeting so many wonderful Peruvian people – and thought that MLP did a great job of developing an outstanding program for us, even if it wasn’t what we (and they) had originally planned to do. The Salkantay-Sacred Valley hikes were magnificent, and allowed us to experience backcountry Peru at its finest. As advertised, the scenery was epic, lodges were great (we stayed at the Soray/Salkantay and Lamay lodges), food was quite good, staff and guides were awesome – and the revised itinerary MLP developed for us was both challenging (in a good way!) and rewarding. Special mention should be made of our 2 guides on this trek, Fernando and Saul; both were great folks, and helped to make the experience memorable. The head guide (Fernando) was exceptionally knowledgeable about both the history and culture of the area and its people, and was a great leader for our group. This part of our excursion culminated in visits to Machu Picchu, which was completely amazing in itself. While we visited other impressive sites while in Peru (Sacsayhuaman, Pisac, Chinchero, Ollantaytambo, to name a few), Machu Picchu was the most impressive to me. While there, we hiked to the Inca bridge, part way to the Sun Gate (a landslide had blocked part of this trail as well), and most impressive of all, up Huayna Picchu. All were amazing adventures, and MLP did a great job of guiding and taking care of us. The Lake Titicaca extension was also quite scenic and the hotels selected were very good (Suasi Island especially), but MLP seemed to have outsourced this part of the trip to other providers, so while each of the guides along the way was good individually, there seemed to be a bit of a disconnect at the end of the each day such that we weren’t quite sure of the arrangements for the next day – I had to contact MLP every evening to find out who would be meeting us and when. All worked out in the end, hotels and staff and transportation arrangements were all great, but it would have been nice if the plan had been clearer. The scenery of the area around the lake (the Altiplano) and the lake itself were beautiful, and our visits to the communities on the various islands we stopped at (including the Uros communities on the floating reed islands in the lake) were amazing. At the end of our trek, we flew to Lima for a quick (planned 2-day) visit before our return to the USA, and were then caught by the announcement of the border closure by the government of Peru. We were given no advance warning of this closure by either the Peruvian or US governments, but after some time we were able to purchase tickets for a humanitarian flight out (by LATAM airways). We suffered no real hardships there – we were staying at a very nice hotel, the Casa Andina Premium, Miraflores, and their management (a Mr. Bruno Del Castillo in particular) and staff did everything they possibly could to make our stay there as pleasant as possible under the circumstances. MLP again helped out here, even though their part of our visit had been completed; I contacted MLP’s emergency support person (Rosa), who was most helpful in trying to help facilitate our exit from the country; while I was ultimately able to find a way out of the country using another source, it was great being able to talk to someone who I felt was really trying to help us. Overall, it was a great adventure, one we’ll never forget – and we appreciate all the folks in MLP who made it so memorable.”
