Day 1

Meet our local partner at the Alta Floresta Airport, in Mato Grosso, and head straight to Cristalino Lodge. Due to its remote setting deep in the Amazon, the boat ride along the Cristalino River is already your first activity, so take it in. On arrival, check in, get to know the hotel, and stretch your legs on a short warm-up hike.

Settle into your accommodation and rest. Try the restaurant’s dishes built on fresh forest ingredients—you will want the energy for the days ahead!

Day 2

Sierra Trails Hike / Teles Pires River

After breakfast, the first activity is the Sierra Trails, four moderate trails ideal for reading the Amazonian flora. You pass chestnut trees that produce Brazil nuts, flowers, valleys, and a fine sunrise viewpoint.

In the afternoon, choose between canoeing and a boat ride on the Teles Pires River, a strong window for wildlife watching from the water and the banks. The evening is yours: enjoy a delicious dinner, a drink at the bar, the floating deck around the bonfire, or a book in the reading room.

Day 3

Birdwatching / Observation Towers

The day opens with a hike on trails made for wildlife watching and birds found almost nowhere else, such as the Amazonian umbrellabird and the cryptic forest falcon. Your guides turn it into a biology lesson without slowing the walk.

In the afternoon, more canoeing and boat rides lead to the 50-meter watchtowers, which have the perfect height to admire the sunset over the canopy. Birds and often monkeys turn up at eye level. Keep your camera ready!

Day 4

Forest Hikes / Canoeing / Boat Trips

Little beats starting the day on foot. The forest hikes take you among ancient trees, flooded ground, bamboo, streams, and rock formations. With luck, you might even see a red-handed howler monkey overhead!

The day also includes canoeing on the Cristalino River or through flooded forest, both excellent for spotting animals. You can combine the two: walk a trail in the morning and canoe back to Cristalino Lodge. Talk to the guides about the options that fit the water level and your pace.

Day 5

Departure

On the fifth day, enjoy a last Brazilian breakfast and a short activity before checkout. This is your final chance to take in the Amazon, breathe the forest air, and shoot a few more photos.

The transfer back to Alta Floresta Airport runs by boat and then road, with snacks provided along the way before goodbye. Your guide adapts the schedule to your flight, availability, and the weather, with two daily tours as the standard rhythm (one in the morning and one in the afternoon).
