Day 1

Cachoeirão and Pati lookout

Your Chapada Diamantina trek begins with a 6:30 am transfer to the village of Guiné, the trailhead, for a quick eco briefing and gear check. After a 3-hour uphill at Aleixo through plains and streams, you reach the famous Vale do Pati lookout, postcard views. Next is Cachoeirão, with jaw-dropping vistas from almost 260 m up (after rain, over 20 waterfalls appear). You spend the night at a local family's home in Igrejinha, with a home-cooked wood-fired dinner.

Day 2

Morro do Castelo and Funis Waterfall

After a good night's sleep and breakfast, you set off on the steep two-hour climb to Morro do Castelo. You make your way to a viewpoint with breathtaking panoramic views of the entire valley, then picnic on the summit. The descent mixes rocky terrain and quiet forest paths down to the Cachoeira dos Funis for a refreshing swim. You spend your second night at Mr. Wilson's house, a cornerstone of the experience that has been hosting travelers since 1997.

Day 3

Poço da Árvore

A balanced day of adventure and downtime along the Pati River, framed by magnificent mountains. You head to Poço da Árvore for a picnic by a natural pool and waterfall, the perfect place for a refreshing swim and to unwind. The day ends at Casa de Seu Eduardo, run by his grandchildren Vitor, Domingo and Virlene, with a warm welcome and some of the best home cooking around.

Day 4

Cachoeirão Valley

Starting at 8 am, the trail follows the Pati River through breathtaking canyons to the foot of Cachoeirão, the waterfall you glimpsed on day one, now up close, with a tranquil pool for a dip and picnic. If the weather cooperates, the afternoon brings golden canyon views at sunset. You spend your last night at the home of Seu Joia and Dona Leu, with dinner under a star-filled sky.

Day 5

Ladeira do Império and arrival in Andaraí

After an early breakfast and farewells, the final hike climbs Ladeira do Império for a stunning view over Pati Valley, then eases across flat plateaus, with a picnic along the way. By around 2:00 pm you reach Andaraí, closing this memorable Vale do Pati trek full of new energy and cherished memories.
