📍Pick-up is available from Campo Grande Airport or your hotel, with flexible timing until 11 a.m.

Your adventure begins with a private transfer from Campo Grande to the southern Pantanal. The journey takes about  7 hours, covering 250–280 km with a mix of asphalt and dirt roads. Once you enter the more remote areas of the Pantanal, the journey continues in a 4×4 vehicle, navigating through the rugged landscape to your lodge.

This rugged road is only accessible by 4×4, adding to the adventure as you pass wildlife-rich areas where you might spot capybaras, caimans, and birds, making the journey itself feel like a safari!

Want to enjoy breathtaking views of the largest tropical wetland? Take a private small-plane flight for about 1 hour, offering a unique perspective of the Pantanal’s wildlife and landscapes.

Important Note: During the dry season (April to November), the 4×4 transfer is possible, but during the rainy season (December to March), access is limited, and travel is only feasible by small-plane flight, which provides breathtaking aerial views of the vast wetlands.

After lunch and a short rest, join an afternoon photo safari in a 4×4 vehicle, scanning the horizon for giant anteaters, marsh deer, and countless bird species. You may also have a chance to spot jaguars, though sightings are rare in this area. As the sun sets, the landscape glows in golden light, perfect for photography.

Dinner is served, featuring the rich local cuisine of the Pantanal, including dishes like arroz carreteiro and freshly caught fish,  followed by a relaxing evening to unwind after a day full of adventures.

FAQ – Wild South Pantanal

How to get to the Wild Southern Pantanal?

Your trip starts in Campo Grande (served by an international airport with regular domestic flights from São Paulo, Brasília, Belo Horizonte, and other major Brazilian cities), with a 7-hour transfer by car and 4×4 through the wetlands until reaching your lodge. During the rainy season (December to March), access is only possible by small-plane flight. A private flight is also available year-round for a faster and scenic arrival over the Pantanal.

When is the best time to visit?

The Pantanal can be visited year-round, but each season brings different experiences. From July to October, wildlife viewing is at its best as animals gather near shrinking water sources.

North vs South: which to choose?

Both regions are rich in wildlife, but the South Pantanal is less crowded and offers a more remote experience. It’s ideal for those seeking cultural immersion, horseback riding, and conservation projects. The North Pantanal, on the other hand, is the best choice for jaguar spotting and is more accessible for shorter safaris.
