La caminata de 5 días por los Lençóis Maranhenses combina la belleza sobrecogedora de Brasil con la rica cultura de Maranhão, atravesando a pie el Parque Nacional de los Lençóis Maranhenses. Por el camino descubrirás los oasis de Baixa Grande y Queimada dos Britos, dunas blancas infinitas y lagunas de agua dulce que brillan al sol, con atardeceres increíbles y baños refrescantes.

Conocerás a familias locales, escucharás sus historias y aprenderás sobre el turismo sostenible que protege este tesoro natural. Para que la experiencia sea auténtica, dormirás en hamacas bajo un cielo estrellado y harás breves travesías en barco para conectar con la naturaleza.

Itinerario

Día 1

Barreirinhas / Pequenos Lençóis / Atins / Canto dos Atins

  • Salida8:30 am desde Barreirinhas
  • Lancha32 km · ~2 h (Pequenos Lençóis, Vassouras y Mandacaru)
  • Caminata8 km · 2–3 h hasta Canto dos Atins

Un vehículo te recoge a las 8:30 am en Barreirinhas (a unas 4 horas / 237 km de São Luís) para un recorrido en lancha por el APA de los Pequenos Lençóis Maranhenses, con paradas en las aldeas de Vassouras y Mandacaru para turismo de base comunitaria. Llegas a la aldea playera de Atins para comer y te quedas hasta las 3 pm, y después caminas 8 km (2–3 horas) por un campo de dunas hasta Canto dos Atins, con baños en lagunas y el atardecer, y noche en hamacas en el albergue.

Día 2

Canto dos Atins → oasis de Baixa Grande

  • Caminata28 km · 9–10 h · salida 2:00 am (amanecer en la playa)

Una comida ligera a la 1:30 am da energía para un arranque temprano a las 2:00 am rumbo al oasis de Baixa Grande, llegando a la playa a tiempo para el amanecer. La jornada de 28 km (alrededor de 9–10 horas) cruza dunas sin fin y paisajes remotos, con llegada al oasis cerca del mediodía. Esta es una de las zonas habitadas más remotas del parque, hogar de solo seis familias. Pasas la noche con una de ellas, regresas a las dunas al caer la tarde para un baño y el atardecer, y se juntan todos para cenar y contar historias (prueba el aguardiente local de yuca, la Tiquira, si tienes curiosidad).

Día 3

Baixa Grande → oasis de Queimada dos Britos

  • Caminata12 km · 4–5 h · salida 5:00 am

Desayuno a las 4:30 am y salida a las 5:00 am para una caminata de 12 km (alrededor de 4–5 horas), cruzando las dunas con la primera luz y el arroyo del Rio Negro, con un amanecer muy bueno y baños en algunas de las lagunas más bonitas del parque. Llegas al oasis de Queimada dos Britos alrededor de las 10:30 am para un almuerzo casero, descansas a la sombra y regresas a las dunas al caer la tarde para más baños y el atardecer, con cena y noche en casa de una familia local.

Día 4

Queimada dos Britos → Vila de Betânia

Salida a las 3:00 am para una caminata de 5–7 horas (18 km) hasta la aldea de Betânia, con parada para ver el amanecer y un chapuzón que refresca en la laguna. El almuerzo es en Betânia, una aldea especial junto al Rio Alegre y rodeada de lagunas sin fin.

Día 5

Vila de Betânia → Santo Amaro

El último día arranca a las 5:30 am con un recorrido de 15 minutos en lancha por el Rio Alegre, y después una caminata de 12 km (unas 5 horas) hasta Santo Amaro, con paradas para nadar, descansar y ver el último amanecer. Llegas a Santo Amaro alrededor de las 10:00 am, donde termina el trekking.
