Immerse yourself in one of the most biodiverse biomes in the world, with flora with more than 30,000 plant species, some even still unknown by the scientific community. We will have the opportunity to take speedboat tours to go out into the forest to see the diversity of these plants and trees and understand the forest cycle.
The fauna is just as rich, with more than 30 million species of animals, such as toucans, parrots, and macaws, which are easily seen in the treetops, as are amazon river dolphins in the water and monkeys in the branches. Of the 100 species of fish in Latin America, 85 are found in the Amazon, including the Pirarucu, which can reach 3 meters in length.

We will cruise through the Amazon Forest, contemplating its beautiful landscapes, learning about its rich biodiversity, tasting the culinary delicacies of the region, and getting to know the local culture interacting with indigenous communities. The Zaltana crew will welcome you onboard for the start of this great adventure. During navigation in Amazonian waters, a meeting will be held, giving instructions, clarifying doubts, and demonstrating practices of minimal impact during the trip.
Contemplating its water we will visit Encontro das Águas (Meeting of the Waters), where Rio Negro (black waters) and Rio Solimões (brown waters) run side by side for more than 9 km.
We will enjoy a delicious lunch onboard. In the afternoon, we will go on a speedboat ride to explore Lake Janauari, an ecological Park that has more than 9 thousand hectares, a region full of Amazonian species, such as the water lily, mucuris, bromeliads, orchids, and the famous Sumauma's trees, as well as the most common fish on the menus of Manaus: tambaqui and pirarucu.
Still in the afternoon, we will visit the indigenous community, where true treasures of Brazilian cultural diversity are concentrated, to watch a singing and dancing performance.
Opening the curtain in your room and enjoying nature at any time is an indescribable sensation! We start the day by going on a speedboat ride through Ariaú River to meet the amazon river dolphins, the most beloved character of the Amazon, docile mammals that are at risk of extinction and that are only found in the Amazon. An exciting experience!
After lunch onboard, contemplate the wonders of the Rio Negro while sailing to the community of Nova Esperança, located on the banks of the Cuieiras River, an ecological cradle that houses several species of animals and centuries-old trees. This will be our opportunity to get to know the local culture, learn about their habits, and exchange knowledge.
Wake up to the sounds of birds for one more day immersing in the water Amazonian. After breakfast, we will explore by speedboat the islands of Anavilhanas and go for a ride to 3 Bocas, where the vegetation of the islands is reflected in the dark waters, producing a surreal environmental scenario.
We will have an abundant lunch aboard before arriving at Novo Airão, the closest city to the Amazon National Parks. An optional stop for a walking tour of the city to visit the local handicraft factory and by afternoon we will take a tour by speedboat to discover some more of the 400 islands of Anavilhanas.
After returning to Zaltana's boat, we will have dinner while we navigate until Praia Grande, enjoying the colors of the amazon sunset and the sounds of the wild animals. A perfect moment to relax in the hammocks and feel the peace of being isolated, direct contact with virtually untouched nature.
Today we will have all day to explore Praia Grande beach by speedboat, an extensive beach in the ebb season of the river and relax in its warm waters, and hopefully, be able to meet with the amazon river dolphins that appears.
At the end of the day, we let's start the preparations for our luau with a bonfire on Praia Grande beach, surrounded by the exuberant Amazon vegetation, eat excellent local food including different kinds of hot fish, and spend a nice night sharing our experiences and perceptions about Amazon. The overnight is aboard, moored in Praia Grande.
The waters that gave us "welcome" will now give us a "see you soon" and we will leave to Manaus, returning to the starting point of this Amazon River Cruise expedition in Brazil.
We will enjoy a delicious farewell lunch while enjoy navigating through the waters of Rio Negrio, enjoying the last moments of this great adventure.
With renewed energy, we return home with the certainty that traveling through the Amazon on the Zaltana Boat is a unique adventure, which will make us reflect on how much we must protect the greatest natural heritage in the world.
