Panoramica

Questo tour dei Lençóis Maranhenses mette insieme in sei giorni le tre basi principali del parco nazionale (Barreirinhas, Atins e Santo Amaro), collegate da strada, fiume e trasferimenti in 4×4. È l’opzione più completa per chi vuole vedere tutta la varietà del parco in un viaggio solo, senza impegnarsi in un trekking di più giorni.

Ogni base racconta un lato diverso dei Lençóis Maranhenses. Barreirinhas è la porta d’ingresso, con l’infrastruttura più solida e l’accesso al circuito della Lagoa Azul, più l’osservazione delle stelle sulle dune. Atins è un villaggio di mare essenziale, che si raggiunge in lancia veloce lungo il Rio Preguiças, con i circuiti di lagune di Ponta do Mangue e Canto do Atins. Santo Amaro sta proprio sul bordo del settore orientale del parco, con accesso a piedi alla Lagoa do Junco e alla Lagoa do Reflexo.

Giorno 1

Barreirinhas / Lagoa Azul / stelle / picnic

Partenza da São Luís, in Maranhão: il partner locale di PlanetaEXO ti passa a prendere nella tua struttura alle 8:30. La strada per Barreirinhas copre circa 250 km in 4 ore su asfalto, con una sosta breve a Morros per uno spuntino (non incluso). Si arriva a Barreirinhas verso le 12:30 e si fa il check-in.

Alle 15:30 il gruppo si ritrova per prendere il traghetto sul Rio Preguiças. Dall’altra sponda un 4×4 prosegue verso la zona della Lagoa Azul, dentro il Parco Nazionale dei Lençóis Maranhenses. Una camminata breve sulle dune porta al punto panoramico per il tramonto.

Dopo il tramonto resta tempo libero per nuotare nelle lagune e girare nei dintorni. Alle 19:30 il cielo si apre per l’osservazione delle stelle sulle dune: l’inquinamento luminoso è quasi nullo e questo è uno dei posti migliori del nord-est del Brasile per guardarle. Viene servito un picnic leggero prima del rientro a Barreirinhas, verso le 20:30. Notte a Barreirinhas.

Giorno 2

Barreirinhas / Vassouras / Mandacaru / Atins

Pick-up in hotel alle 8:30 e transfer al porto sul Rio Preguiças. La navigazione in lancia veloce verso Atins segue uno dei tratti più belli del fiume, incorniciato da mangrovie e palme.

Prima sosta: il villaggio di Vassouras, nei cosiddetti Pequenos Lençóis. Cammini tra le dune piccole, bevi acqua di cocco fresca e tieni gli occhi aperti per le scimmie cappuccine che vivono nella mangrovia. Importante: non dare da mangiare agli animali.

La barca prosegue oltre i villaggi di pescatori fino a Mandacaru, dove il gruppo sale sul faro per la vista sulla foce del Rio Preguiças. Poi si arriva al villaggio di Bar da Hora per il pranzo (non incluso) e un po’ di tempo libero. Alle 14:30 la barca riparte verso il porto di Atins e un veicolo porta il gruppo alla pousada verso le 15:00. Notte ad Atins.

Giorno 3

Atins / Ponta do Mangue / Canto do Atins

Partenza alle 10:00 per una giornata intera di circuiti tra le lagune nella zona di Atins. Il circuito di Ponta do Mangue tocca le preferite di stagione, come la Lagoa Tropical, la Lagoa da Gorjeta e la Lagoa da Esmeralda: quali esattamente dipende dal livello dell’acqua.

A metà giornata sosta per il pranzo (non incluso) e riposo in amaca. Alle 15:00 il circuito di Canto do Atins prosegue verso la Lagoa do Gavião, la Lagoa do Kite, la Lagoa da Gaivota e la Lagoa das Sete Mulheres, tra le più fotogeniche della regione. Fra giugno e agosto il percorso comprende anche la Cachoeira do Bonzinho, l’unica cascata del circuito.

Si chiude con il tramonto sulle dune prima di rientrare ad Atins. Il villaggio ha l’atmosfera più rilassata delle tre basi, con le strade di sabbia e una scena gastronomica piccola ma interessante. Notte ad Atins.

Giorno 4

Atins / Barreirinhas / Santo Amaro / Lagoa do Junco

Pick-up alla pousada di Atins alle 9:00 e transfer al porto per la lancia di rientro a Barreirinhas. Da lì si prosegue su strada verso Santo Amaro (circa 111 km, circa un’ora e mezza su asfalto). Ognuno viene lasciato alla struttura che ha scelto.

Alle 15:00 il gruppo parte a piedi verso la Lagoa do Junco, una delle lagune più conosciute dei Lençóis Maranhenses. Santo Amaro sta proprio sul bordo del parco, quindi buona parte del sentiero attraversa direttamente le dune, con panorami aperti per tutto il tragitto.

Tempo libero alla laguna per nuotare e fotografare fino al tramonto, poi rientro in pousada. Notte a Santo Amaro.

Giorno 5

Santo Amaro / Ponta Verde e Lagoa do Reflexo

Partenza alle 9:00 a piedi verso il villaggio di Ponta Verde. Il percorso comincia tra le dune e continua in tratti di restinga. Ponta Verde è conosciuta per i frutti nativi (anacardo, mirim) e per la vegetazione sempreverde che le dà il nome.

Pranzo in un ristorante di Ponta Verde (non incluso). Poi il gruppo raggiunge la Lagoa do Reflexo per un bagno e qualche foto. Dopo il tramonto si rientra in pousada a Santo Amaro.

Saluti i Lençóis e la mattina si rientra in città. Il primo tratto è su pista da 4×4, poi si prende l’asfalto. Conviene prenotare i voli in partenza da São Luís per la sera tardi o per il giorno dopo, in caso di rallentamenti lungo la strada.

Partenza da Santo Amaro, nei Lençóis Maranhenses: il partner locale di PlanetaEXO ti riporta in aeroporto o in hotel a São Luís alle 9:00. L’arrivo in capitale è previsto verso le 13:00.
