Panoramica

Sei giorni per collegare tutte e tre le basi principali del Parco Nazionale dei Lençóis Maranhenses, cioè Barreirinhas, Atins e Santo Amaro, unite da strada, fiume e trasferimenti in 4×4. È la formula più completa per chi in un solo viaggio vuole vedere tutte le facce di questo deserto del Brasile, senza affrontare una traversata a piedi di più giorni.

Ogni base racconta un lato diverso dei Lençóis Maranhenses. Barreirinhas è la porta d’ingresso principale: ha l’infrastruttura più solida e da qui parte il circuito della Lagoa Azul, che finisce con le stelle sulle dune. Atins è un villaggio di mare dall’aria rustica, si raggiunge in lancia veloce lungo il fiume Preguiças ed è la base dei circuiti di lagune di Ponta do Mangue e Canto do Atins. Santo Amaro, invece, sorge proprio sul bordo del settore orientale del parco: da lì si raggiungono a piedi la Lagoa do Junco e la Lagoa do Reflexo.

  • Attenzione: il programma giornaliero è indicativo, si conferma all’arrivo e si adatta al meteo, al livello dell’acqua e al ritmo del gruppo. I transfer in 4×4 dipendono dalla disponibilità dei mezzi e dalle piogge stagionali.

Giorno 1

Giorno 1: Barreirinhas / Lagoa Azul / Osservazione delle stelle / Picnic

Alle 8:30 il partner locale di PlanetaEXO ti passa a prendere dove alloggi a São Luís. Fino a Barreirinhas sono circa 250 km e 4 ore su asfalto, con una breve sosta a Morros per uno spuntino (non incluso). Si arriva a Barreirinhas verso le 12:30, poi check-in in struttura.

Alle 15:30 il gruppo si ritrova per prendere il traghetto e attraversare il fiume Preguiças. Dall’altra sponda un 4×4 prosegue verso la regione della Lagoa Azul, dentro il parco nazionale. Una breve camminata sulle dune porta al punto panoramico dove aspettare il tramonto.

Dopo il tramonto c’è tempo libero per fare il bagno nelle lagune ed esplorare i dintorni. Alle 19:30 tocca alle stelle: qui l’inquinamento luminoso è minimo e le dune sono uno dei posti migliori del nordest brasiliano per guardare il cielo. Prima del rientro a Barreirinhas, verso le 20:30, viene servito un picnic leggero. Pernottamento a Barreirinhas.

Giorno 2

Giorno 2: Barreirinhas / Vassouras / Mandacaru / Atins

Alle 8:30 si parte dall’hotel verso il porto sul fiume Preguiças. La lancia veloce verso Atins percorre uno dei tratti più belli del fiume, tra mangrovie e palme.

Prima sosta: il villaggio di Vassouras, nei cosiddetti Pequenos Lençóis (Piccoli Lençóis). Si cammina tra le dune basse, si beve acqua di cocco fresca e si tengono d’occhio le scimmie cappuccine che vivono nelle mangrovie. Importante: non dare da mangiare agli animali.

La lancia prosegue tra i villaggi di pescatori affacciati sul fiume fino a Mandacaru, dove si sale sul faro per la vista sulla foce del Preguiças. Poi si arriva al villaggio di Bar da Hora per il pranzo (non incluso) e un po’ di tempo libero. Alle 14:30 si riparte verso il porto di Atins e un veicolo accompagna i viaggiatori alla pousada verso le 15. Pernottamento ad Atins.

Giorno 3

Giorno 3: Atins / Ponta do Mangue / Canto do Atins

Partenza alle 10 per una giornata intera di circuiti tra le lagune nella zona di Atins. Il Circuito di Ponta do Mangue tocca le lagune più amate della stagione, come Lagoa Tropical, Lagoa da Gorjeta e Lagoa da Esmeralda (la selezione esatta dipende dal livello dell’acqua).

A metà giornata sosta per il pranzo (non incluso) e riposo in amaca. Alle 15 il Circuito del Canto do Atins prosegue verso Lagoa do Gavião, Lagoa do Kite, Lagoa da Gaivota e Lagoa das Sete Mulheres, tra le lagune più fotogeniche della regione. Tra giugno e agosto il percorso comprende anche la Cachoeira do Bonzinho, l’unica cascata di questo circuito.

A fine giornata, tramonto sulle dune prima del rientro ad Atins. Il villaggio ha l’atmosfera più rilassata delle tre basi: strade di sabbia e una manciata di ristoranti che meritano una sosta. Pernottamento ad Atins.

Giorno 4

Giorno 4: Atins / Barreirinhas / Santo Amaro / Lagoa do Junco

Alle 9 si lascia la pousada di Atins e si raggiunge il porto per la lancia di rientro a Barreirinhas. Da lì si prosegue su strada fino a Santo Amaro (~111 km, ~1 ora e mezza su asfalto) e ognuno scende alla struttura che ha scelto.

Alle 15 il gruppo parte a piedi verso la Lagoa do Junco, una delle lagune più famose dei Lençóis Maranhenses. Santo Amaro sorge proprio sul bordo del parco, quindi buona parte del sentiero attraversa direttamente le dune, con panorami aperti per tutto il tragitto.

Tempo libero in laguna per nuotare e fotografare fino al tramonto, poi rientro in pousada. Pernottamento a Santo Amaro.

Giorno 5

Giorno 5: Santo Amaro / Ponta Verde + Lagoa do Reflexo

Partenza alle 9 a piedi verso il villaggio di Ponta Verde. Il percorso comincia tra le dune e prosegue in tratti di restinga. Ponta Verde è nota per i frutti nativi (anacardio, mirim) e per la vegetazione sempreverde che le dà il nome.

Pranzo in un ristorante locale di Ponta Verde (non incluso). Nel pomeriggio il gruppo raggiunge la Lagoa do Reflexo per un bagno e qualche foto. Dopo il tramonto, rientro in pousada a Santo Amaro.

Giorno 6

Giorno 6: Partenza

Ultimo saluto ai Lençóis: in mattinata si rientra in città. Il primo tratto si fa in 4×4, poi si prende la strada asfaltata. Consigliamo di prenotare i voli in partenza da São Luís per la sera tardi o per il giorno dopo, così eventuali ritardi lungo la strada non creano problemi.

Alle 9 il partner locale di PlanetaEXO ti riporta in aeroporto o al tuo hotel di São Luís. L’arrivo nella capitale è previsto verso le 13.
