About the adventure

Would you like to embark on an Amazon Survival Expedition through the jungle on the other side of the world? This experience is tailored for individuals who have a strong passion for adventure.

The jungle is a place of breathtaking beauty, but it's also a universe that demands respect for certain rules. Each living being has adapted and developed its own weapons to survive and thrive, making this place both magnificent and unsettling. With basic knowledge, a castaway can find everything they need in the forest to survive, including food, shelter, navigation, healing, and more.

During your Amazon Survival Expedition, you'll be accompanied by our guide, who will teach you how to make the most of the forest's resources. This is your chance to learn various survival, bushcraft, and navigation techniques, whether they are modern or derived from Amerindian practices.

This is a nature-friendly Amazon Survival Expedition that welcomes you with open arms.

Day 1 - Meeting the Mamori River and Tracajá Lake

The adventure commences in Manaus, the capital of the Amazonas. Our boat will take us to the Meeting of Waters, where Negro and Solimões Rivers run parallel to each other for many kilometers without mixing, and you might even catch a glimpse of curious Amazon river dolphins. From there, we'll navigate through numerous lakes and creeks that are teeming with wildlife, where you can see the giant Amazon water lilies with their huge floating leaves.

On the way to the lodge, you'll pass by native villages and floating houses of the Caboclo community. The abundance of diverse wildlife in this area, including birds, alligators, fish, sloths, and monkeys, makes it an ideal spot for observing wildlife.

Arriving at our base in the lodge, you'll enjoy a buffet-style lunch of freshwater fish, beef, chicken, salads, and exotic fruits from the Amazon. After lunch, we'll take a motorized canoe trip to explore the region, experiencing the pristine and diverse landscapes of the area. You'll have the opportunity to observe a great variety of animals, such as the beautiful white egrets that gracefully walk among the floating grass islands. Dinner will be served at the lodge and the night is free to rest and prepare yourself before embarking on our adventure through the Amazon jungle.

Day 2 - Welcome to Mamori Survival Experience - The Camping

Depart from our base via a motorized canoe and head towards Tracajá Lake, where you'll find our first campsite (tapirí) made of wood and straw from the Babaçu tree. This campsite is located on the riverbank, making it convenient for activities since the rivers are the primary mode of transportation in this area. Lunch will be served in an open area by the river, with fresh fish roasted over an open fire. Activities for the day will be exploring the region by canoe, engaging in regional fishing, observing the diverse wildlife in the area, marvel at the sunset over the Mamori River.

Day 3 - Sunrise, Birdwatching, and Beauties of the Nature

Today's adventure is all about exploring the flora and fauna of the Amazon. Accompanied by our expert guide, you'll discover the local wildlife as we trek through the forest, and learn about medicinal plants. Our guide will introduce you to the diverse plant and animal species found in the area and teach you survival techniques in the jungle, like how to find food through foraging, hunting, and fishing. We'll return to our campsite at the end of the day, and after dinner, we will leave the camp for a night tour to watch for animals.

Day 4 - Jungle Trekking and Biodiversity

Start your day with a delicious breakfast before embarking on a thrilling jungle trek on the trails. We'll spend the day observing the incredible flora and fauna of the Amazon and taking photos of the magnificent scenery. Once we return to the camp, we'll have some time to cool off with a refreshing swim in the nearby rivers. Dinner will be served, followed by a peaceful night's sleep in comfortable hammocks complete with mosquito nets. Activities for the day: jungle trekking, observe to the unique flora and fauna of the Amazon, tour the flooded forest by paddle canoe, capture photos of special places on the Igapós and Igarapes.

Day 5 - Canoeing by Flooded Jungle and Meeting the Dolphins

After breakfast, we will embark on a canoe trip through the small channels (Igarapes). As we paddle, you will have the opportunity to see Amazon river dolphins (Botos), friendly mammals symbol of the Amazon, an exciting experience, such as other animals like monkeys, iguanas, snakes, caimans, and if we're lucky, even spot a sloth taking a shower. In the afternoon, we will begin our journey back to civilization, crossing the Mamori lake at a leisurely pace. Once we have crossed the lake, we will say goodbye to our canoe. You will have a comfortable, clean room and enjoy a delicious meal.

    The service was excellent

    March 21, 2023

We are just happy about our indescribably beautiful stay at this Amazon Lodge. The hospitality is nothing short of warm. The “service” was excellent, and everything you need or want to know is lovingly addressed. It’s just extremely relaxing. If you want to discover a part of the Amazon and are looking for adventure, naturalness, family well-being, and regionality – you will be as happy here as we are.

Just getting there is an experience in itself

    November 1, 2022

Wonderful! We spent four wonderful days! Just getting there is an experience in itself! First by boat crossing the Rio Negro and Rio Solimões. Finally, you end up in a beautiful chalet with good hosts, good food, and a good guide. We had a small random and personal group of 6 (India, Germany, and Tyrol) and we had a great time together. Highly recommended!

Hospitality 10, we felt at home!

    October 13, 2022

We were very well received. The staff is all very attentive without exception. Our guides and the boatman were a 10. They are always looking to offer the best service. Improvement that should be made is to vary the breakfast menu, add tapioca, and other regional products. Rooms need renovation. Our room had a leak. Hospitality 10, we felt at home!

I cannot express how kind the staff is there

    October 9, 2022

The rooms are clean however they do not have bed bug covers over the mattress. The buffet had the most vegetables I have been served on the whole trip so I was happy. They have fish, chicken, and beef dishes every night. I cannot express how kind the staff is there. Everyone wants you to enjoy your stay. If you want to unplug from with world and be in awe of the amazing amazon forest this is the perfect place.

The view and jungle were amazing

    May 23, 2022

This lodge is more remote than other lodges, somehow in the middle of nowhere in the real meaning. I had some nice activities included. The room was good, the food was top basic, the staff was good and the view and jungle were amazing.

A feeling of really being in the jungle

    September 30, 2021

The huts are separate and away from the restaurant, which gives you a feeling of really being in the jungle. The decor is rustic and very pretty. The only downside is that the water in the shower didn’t get hot. On rainy nights, it got a little cold and showering was difficult. But okay, I managed to survive the cold shower because the other days were hot. The bed was comfortable and the room was beautiful, facing the river. The room is very large and spacious. Animals can enter the room at any time, so be aware when opening the door and always keep it closed. The highlight is the tours. It’s a good immersion in the local culture and life in the jungle. Our guide is very kind, and patient and has a great knowledge of the forest. It really is a learning experience!

    Definitely a must-do in Brazil!

    July 11, 2021

We had the most amazing time at the lodge last month. Our family of 5 loved the whole experience from pickup to drop off. We experienced the Amazon, the wildlife, the food, the plants, and the culture. From holding sloths to seeing macaws, watching monkeys, and learning about the natural healing properties of plants and trees we learned so much. Our guide was great and very knowledgeable. Our rooms were super clean and comfortable. We loved the food provided and the lodge grounds were beautiful! We spent time in the hammocks and playing soccer. Definitely a must-do in Brazil!

The lodge attendants were extremely solicitous

    June 17, 2021

We stayed 4 days with 3 friends at this lodge and we were very well received. All the lodge attendants were extremely solicitous and interested in helping. the place is beautiful and very jungle-style, for those looking for an immersion. The food is great, they are very punctual and they gave us a room upgrade when we arrived. They quickly resolved all the problems we had, for example when a frog entered the bathroom or when we asked for mosquito nets for the beds.

You will see all highlights of Amazon

    July 28, 2019

Excellent housing, and some wifi, which lets you really relax. Excellent guides and good food and you will see all highlights of the Amazon. Recommended also with kids. Nice swimming in the Amazon at the lodge itself.

    Top-notch team!

    May 2, 2019

Going to the Amazon is, in itself, an incredible experience. With everything going exactly as planned, even better. We went to the lodge on a Monday and left on a Thursday. All transfers were perfect and everyone was attentive. It was our wedding anniversary, and we were given lots of treats and cuddles for the occasion. Top-notch team! The space is very beautiful and the tours are just right, with a break for a rest, perfect timing! It costs to get there, but it’s worth it! Congratulations on the work!

    The guides are fantastic

    March 20, 2019

Super nice and familiar lodge, the guides are fantastic, attentive and super safe on the tours. The waiters are friendly and concerned, always ready to help. There are plenty of activities, we don’t stop for a second!!!

    The food was pretty good

    February 1, 2019

This is part of the community and it’s good to be able to interact with the locals. Fishing is fun even if you are not into fishing and the flora and birds are amazing. Don’t expect leopards monkeys etc they avoid contact and they have plenty of room. But you can expect to see plenty of Cayman, lizards, etc. We were in the Honeymoon bungalow which was good and the better rooms do seem to be worth the extra. The food was pretty good but maybe slightly repetitive.

    Vinny (England)

    Staff friendly and helpful

    January 1, 2018

Simple accommodation, but that caters well to the less demanding. The food is reasonable. The strength is the staff, friendly and helpful. The guides are all good, according to what we could evaluate.
